Meet speaker: Dr. Thomas Tomski

Thomas Tomski, Director Refrigeration & Industrial Marketing at Emerson Climate Technologies, holds a first degree in mechanical engineering and a PhD in the thermal design of shell-and-tube heat exchangers using expert systems from the University of Brighton/UK. After working for three years in Building Automation, he joined Emerson in 1995 and pursued multiple activities in the refrigeration industry that advanced his knowledge of commercial refrigeration controls, compressors and systems. After the acquisition of Vilter USA in 2009, Thomas’s responsibilities have expanded to include industrial refrigeration and heat pumps. In simple terms, his mission is to ensure that the Vilter single screw technology will pioneer the industrial heat pump business just like Emerson’s Copeland scroll compressors have pioneered the residential heating market. Vilter single screw technology with natural refrigerants has significant economical and environmental potential to lead innovation in the industrial heat pump market; all to the benefit of the food and beverage processing industry.
